Mission
PAGenWeb is part of the USGenWeb® Project, a nationwide network of free genealogy sites maintained by volunteers. Our Jefferson County goal is simple:
- Make local historical and genealogical resources easy to find and free to access.
- Offer practical guidance for beginners through advanced researchers.
- Preserve community knowledge by encouraging contributions—transcriptions, photos, finding aids, and tips.

How to Use & Cite
Using the site
- Start with the Research Guide to understand county-specific quirks and record locations.
- Check the Localities hub to resolve variant place names and find the right township.
- Use the header search for quick site-wide lookups; filter cards on most pages to narrow results fast.
How to cite
Please cite the original record creator (church, court, cemetery, etc.) and then the Jefferson County PAGenWeb page or file where you accessed it. Example:
